On Saturday Sept. 5, 2009, Archbishop Mark Haverland arrived in the Chapel Hill/Durham area. Fr. Hart drove him to the home of Bobby Springle, an elderly member whose health has prevented him from being able to come to church for a couple of months. Archbishop Haverland confirmed Mr. Springle that afternoon.


The next day, Sunday Sept. 6, Fr. Hart presented to Archbishop 11 more people to be confirmed, including 4 children and 7 adults (three of whom have joined us from a Lutheran church). This was followed by the service of Holy Communion in which the Archbishop celebrated and preached, and then by a potluck luncheon. As anticipated, it was a truly joyful occasion to be visited by our Diocesan Ordinary, who is not only our Bishop, but the Archbishop and Metropolitan of the ACC.
